Your such a blessing to me and those that will find this in their time of need. xoxo
...the metal cage er crib brought back so many memories as well as the playroom, no babie food and in our case no pacifers to be found in a children's hospital no less!
Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05989684162887935990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-606637689904713685.post-83998761756276046742014-01-14T17:23:38.018-08:002014-01-14T17:23:38.018-08:00WOW! Agree!

We were watching our kids swim at a hot outdoor pool. I was very worried all of the time. She'd ask lots of questions and say encouraging things like "holy shit" and "that fucking sucks." It made me happy. I love her.

This post inspired me to write to a friend whose spouse died about a month ago to say "I would like to bring you lunch on Wednesday." I usually feel like it's too forward to say a specific thing like that, instead choosing to tiptoe around the person who, I assume, I will be bothering with my delicious soups and salads. Thanks for making me see the light.katyhttp://bigfootchildhavediabetes.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-606637689904713685.post-25448357585603330602014-01-14T14:42:32.689-08:002014-01-14T14:42:32.689-08:00"Don't ask, TELL! No one likes to ask for help, and at a time like a medical diagnosis every little "normal" part of life (like making dinner) seems overwhelming! I know they mean it with a good heart, and would do anything for you if you asked, but I'M not going to ASK. True to just say, hey, I want to bring you supper, is tonight Ok? Or, by all means, when they want to talk about how difficult it is to count , bolus and recheck and correct...try your best not to let your eyes glaze over because you don't understand and you don't want to. They are learning, too. And it helps to talk about it. Listen and learn. You'll know how to help them better if you do.
