Okay, not really... but I am a guest blogger on the awesome Lilly Diabetes/Disney blog; T1 Everyday Magic.
Some time ago they asked me to write a post describing how you know you're a T1D parent. I mean, besides the obvious fact that your child or children have type 1.
And some time ago, I wrote and submitted it. And then forgot about it. Because that's what I do. Forget. Everything.
Whatever. My kids are fed and I do remember to put on clothes when I go outside. I call that a win.
So, click here. Read it. Let me know what you think or if you have anything else you would have included.

Love love love it!! I was nodding and giggling as I read the post with my hubby looking at me like I have 2 heads. Then I showed it to him and he totally got it too :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved it!! #10 made me laugh out loud! I've had the same thought! (You don't know tired, Jack) And now, I have the urge to carelessly toss out a few test strips into the world because I have confirmation that I'm not the only one who feels less alone when I see one! (Not a weirdo!)
ReplyDeleteAnd...I loved, loved, loved your and Fred's segments on the You Can Do This diagnosed under age 2 video!! I shared it, and your blog link, with our Taking On Type 1 Together parent support group in Cincinnati. Shannon and I just attended a meeting last week and there were so many new people with itty bitty kiddos who are newly diagnosed. You and Fred will be good role models for these new parents. Your love for each other, teamwork, and "It's hard, but it's going to be okay" sensibility peppered with love, humor, and teamwork made the entire video. Kudos to you both!
