Le sigh...

Yes... Mattias is STILL waking up (and staying up) at all hours of the night. Although 2 nights ago he went back to sleep twice by himself. I got 6 hours of sleep that night and felt like a new woman.

Yes... we are still also dealing with wonky overnight numbers. And night terrors too.

To make matters worse, our dexcom has become a compulsive liar and alarming for no reason at all, pretty much only at night. Like a few minutes ago it alarmed telling me Elise was 74, straight down. Finger check showed 151. She better %&$*% well be 151 after all the %&$*@ carbs we've stuffed into her tonight. Can you say rebound high?

Our house is on the market and in no way ready to be seen. I'm stressed, I'm tired, I'm emotional, and THIS...

... is all I want to be doing.

  1. Booo to Dexs insanity and I wanna be doing that too!!

Hope we both get some (sleep that is) tonight ;)

  2. JO!!!!!!

    Oh, my sweet JO!!!!!

You're doing it, my friend. One number at a time. One feeding at a time. One minute at a time.

What you are doing right now is far beyond IMMENSE.

You will go through phases in the years ahead and wonder how you're going to pull through...but then you will remember these days. And you will ask yourself how you ever survived.

God is right there...don't be afraid to throw your hands up and lay it all in His lap.

I will keep you in my prayers, my friend. You're doing a phenomenal job!!!!

  3. 6 hours!! wow...I am jealous! Hope you get more of it. Our Dex likes to alarm often at night when everyone is peacefully sleeping to give us a false reading. HATE when he cries wolf!! Think he just wants attention. (Heard it has to do with when they are laying on it and the fluids aren't moving by the sensor or something.)

As you may remember, we sold our home last spring. I have 2 school-aged was still tough. I stand in AWE of you Jo. You CAN do this, but you are gonna miss your sleep dear one!

Where ya moving? Same area? Please say Vermont! Please say Vermont! Please say Vermont!

  5. Oh honey, I can totally relate! My son was sick last week and the week prior and his bgs were all over the place. On top of it all, we FINALLY changed my daughters bed from a crib to a toddler bed, and shes still "adjusting" to sleeping without that railing.. falling out every other night LOL! Not to mention the occational nightmare from both kids. My daughter was sick all week this week too, spiking fevers all day, every day, for 4 days straight. Having to give her meds for the fever, antibiotics for her ear infection, plus everything we gotta do to care for "D". Some days, I feel like us "d mamas" are underpaid, overworked, sleep-deprived versions of pharmacists LOL!

Dont worry gf! You can do it! You ARE doing it! And, this too shall pass :)

  6. At least you know you look like a Sleeping Beauty when conked out! Take what you can!

  7. @ Reyna - Nope, only 3 minutes away. I could never live in a place with no Targets. Although having you as a neighbour would totally make up for it!

  8. sweet dreams my friend!! and a great big hug. :)

  9. the senility IS just fine in your house, my dear Joanne. Bless your little heart for setting up a sleeping beauty photo! Did Elise snap that shot? Or was it your sweet smiley guy ;)

Keep plugging girl, keep plugging along

  10. Oh man I feel for you! My youngest was born just 6 months into Ally's dx and I thought that I would NEVER ever sleep again..or be myself again for that matter! It's been a long road but I can look back and realize that we have made progress. Thinking of you and wishing you much much more peaceful rest.

p.s. Reyna, you don't have Target in VT?

  11. hopefully he'll start to sleep through the night soon! head over to my blog for some fun diabetes giveaways!

  12. Good Hell, Woman! That is a LOT to deal with! Praying for a non-lying Dex, sound sleeping baby, perfect number no night terror Elise, house ready to be shown, 8 hours of sleep getting life - NOW!!!

  13. You can do this, you are doing this and you are doing an amazing job! I agree with Wendy though, lay it all in Papa God's lap and let Him guide you moment by sweet moment. Praying His perfect peace over your home right now!

  14. Why do all things crazy seem to happen at once? Why??!!

A couple of years ago, I wouldn't have known what you meant by a sleep-deprived, emotional melt-down. I totally know now, and I feel for you!!

Hope things are at least starting to turn a corner. My thoughts and prayers are with you. :)
